The objective was to design a product inspired by the philosophies of Ross Love Grove and Frank Gehry. Claudia Leal and myself were selected to design animal products. We decided to design a dog house with its own cooling system. We accomplished this by placing a garden on the roof that insulates when its cold and maintains cool when its warm.
The objective was to design a kayak using biomaterials. We decided to go with hemp, cork polymer composites, cellulose and yulex neoprene. Using the materials strategically to maintain the kayak light buoyant and comfortable. The Hemp is used as a pre/peg lay up to create the outer shell. The Yulex neoprene is used to make the seat which is made out of guayule shrubs that are environmentally sustainable. The cellulose is injection molded to make the back support for the seat. The cork is used to seal the storage unit.
The objective was to design a outdoor technical camera pack with innovative emerging manufacturing materials. After extensive consumer research and product analysis we realized their wasn't many camera bags that met the needs of the adventure photographers. The Aperture pack was designed in order to fit the needs of this consumer archetype.
